Kitchen cabinets made to the exact size of your kitchen, built for steam, heat and daily use, and fitted by a team that can also handle the rest of the renovation.
A kitchen takes more abuse than any other room: steam, grease, heat, spills and heavy daily use. In Abu Dhabi, add humidity and the extra cleaning that comes with dust, and cabinets have to be built well. ALHUD Technical LLC designs and builds custom made kitchen cabinets for villas, apartments and commercial kitchens across the emirate, either as a full new kitchen or as a replacement for worn-out units.
Standard modular units are fine when your kitchen is a perfect rectangle. Most are not. Made-to-measure cabinets close the gaps, use corners properly and fit around pipes, columns and windows.
If you are doing a full upgrade with new floors, worktops and plumbing, see our kitchen renovation service, which coordinates the whole job.
The enemy of a kitchen cabinet is moisture, especially around the sink, dishwasher and cooker. Cheap boards swell where water reaches an unsealed edge, and once that happens, the damage spreads. Moisture-resistant boards, properly edge-banded and sealed, are a much safer choice, and the cabinet under the sink deserves extra protection.
Plinths near the floor are worth specifying well, since mop water and spills reach them first. Where tiles meet the plinth, we seal the joint.
A good kitchen works around the cook. We look at the classic triangle between sink, hob and fridge, and then at how many people cook at once. A family that cooks together needs wider aisles than a single cook, and a kitchen that entertains may need an island with seating.
Villas in Abu Dhabi often have a main kitchen and a smaller service or show kitchen, so we plan each for its use. Heavy cooking kitchens need strong extraction and tougher finishes, while a show kitchen can lean towards a lighter finish.
The look comes from the doors. Slab doors give a clean, modern face. Framed or shaker doors suit classic homes. Handleless designs use a recessed channel and look sleek, but fingerprints show more on darker colours. Glass-fronted wall units add display space but need tidy contents.
Choose finishes with cleaning in mind. High-gloss doors reflect light and show marks, matt finishes hide them better, and textured veneers add warmth but need gentle cleaning. We bring samples so you can judge the colour in your own light before deciding.
Cabinets are only part of the kitchen. Worktops, sinks, hobs and appliances all depend on accurate cabinet sizes. Stone worktops, such as those from our granite installation team, are cut to the final cabinet positions, so we coordinate the template date with the fitting.
Pipework and sockets need planning as well. If a sink or hob is moving, the plumbing and electrics must be done before the units go in; see kitchen plumbing for that side.
New sockets and circuits are covered by our electrical installation team.
Workshop building keeps dust and noise out of the home, and installation is typically shorter than building in place. We advise on how long you may be without a kitchen so you can plan.
Villa kitchens are larger and often have a second pantry space. Apartment kitchens are tighter, so every centimetre matters, and tall units and corner solutions help. Cafes, canteens and staff kitchens need easy-clean, tough finishes, and some sites have specific rules, so check the requirements for your premises. See our cabinet installation page if your cabinets are already made.
We confirm the price after the site visit and drawing. Photos and a rough sketch on WhatsApp help us give useful early advice.
Wipe spills quickly, especially near the sink, and dry the edges of doors and drawers. Use a mild cleaner, not abrasive pads. Check under-sink units for leaks every few months, because a slow drip can ruin a base quietly. Ventilate while cooking to limit steam and grease, and have hinges adjusted if doors begin to hang unevenly. For advice on choosing a carpenter, read our guide to hiring a carpenter in Abu Dhabi.
Matching units for the bedroom are covered on our custom made wardrobes page.
The full range is on the furniture and carpenter page.
It depends on the size and finish. After the site visit and drawing are agreed, we give you a timeline for the workshop build and the installation.
Moisture-resistant boards with sealed edges are the safest choice, particularly around the sink and dishwasher. Door finishes vary in upkeep, and we show samples.
Sometimes. If the carcasses are sound and dry, new doors and hardware can refresh a kitchen. If they are swollen or damaged, full replacement is better.
Yes. We plan the units around your oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge sizes, and we ask for the appliance models before building.
We coordinate with stone and worktop teams so the template and fitting dates line up, which avoids delays after the cabinets go in.
Yes. We build islands with storage, seating overhangs and space for sinks or hobs, as long as the room allows and services can be routed.
Some buildings have rules for access, noise and plumbing changes. Check with your building management, and tell us the building details so we can plan the work.
